Vivaldi Symposium with award ceremony

An exquisite little Vivaldi Symposium will take place in the afternoon of December 10th in Turin - in honor of Alberto Basso, who will receive the German Record Critics’ Award's Honorary Award 2020 in this fitting setting.

10.12.2020 – Alberto Basso, Professor of Musicology in Turin and Barcelona, is recognized for his visionary work as the editor of the Vivaldi Edition of the label naïve – a unique discographic project he started twenty years ago and continues to oversee to this day. The theme of the conference is »Antonio Vivaldi e le orfane Musiciste«. Renowned Vivaldi researchers such as Cesare Fertonani, Bepi Ellero, Pier Giuseppe Gillio, and Susan Orlando will report on the beginnings of musical education in Venetian orphanages during the time of the »red priest«. For the event’s finale, musicians of the De Sono Association will perform works by Vivaldi in the concert hall of the Lingotto Turin.
