accepts his Annual Award for 2021 virtually in Freiburg.

01.12.2021 – Saša Stanišić is not only an outstanding author for adults but also an imaginative narrator and reader. The PdSK awarded him an Annual Award in 2021 for his audiobook »Hey, hey, hey Taxi«. At a reading at the Literaturhaus Freiburg on 1 December, he read for 60 children and accompanying adults. Not only his own but also texts that schoolchildren have written inspired by his taxi stories. In a virtual Advent calendar, one can be heard every evening at 6 pm. Saša Stanišić was only able to visit Freiburg via zoom, and PdSK juror Julia Kaiser was also only connected virtually. The author digitally accepted the PdSK certificate and a rose, but the pleasure of the event was felt in Freiburg, Hamburg, and Berlin in a very analog way.
