The »Ausgezeichnet! 2022« Brochure is here!

On around one hundred pages, our new PdSK brochure reports on good music from all genres: presented are the titles awarded a place on the Critics’ Choice best list from 2021 and the Annual and Honorary Award winners of 2021/22. Additionally, the jurors’ reasonings for the awards are published.

23.03.2022 – Corona has made the awarding part of our work more difficult. Despite numerous pandemic-related concert cancellations, we were able to celebrate nine public award ceremonies, from Hamburg to Berlin, Leipzig, Schwerin, Bayreuth, and Bamberg to Freiburg, and one of them in the Austrian city of Erl. In Erl, at the Tyrolean Festival, our 2020 Nightingale award winner, Brigitte Fassbaender, finally received her award after several lockdown-caused postponements. In the brochure, we also celebrate our Annual Award winners, including Florian Uhlig, Georg Nigl, Yola, Chris Eckman, Kelly Lee Owens, Saša Stanišić, as well as our Honorary Award winners Peter Brötzmann, William Christie, and Manfred Eicher.

In addition, the jurors introduce themselves in pictures and text: 152 music critics and specialist journalists who work in 32 jury categories, from opera to piano music to ethno and jazz, from choral music to pop, rock, electronic & experimental.
»Ausgezeichnet! 2022« is published free of charge. The booklet is available at public events of the PdSK, award ceremonies, and critic quartets as soon as they are possible again.
