Florian Schneider: Hals an Hals & Bein an Bein: Schangsongs

Self-published 7640172463871 (Direct sales)

Florian Schneider is a Swiss singer-songwriter, but fortunately for the North German-minded ear, he sings close to a Southern-influenced Standard German. His songs and performances seem to have fallen out of time – a reminder of long sunken days in which people like him still roamed the country and were called Bänkelsänger. But there is nothing old-fashioned about his love, travel and horror songs and ballads. He writes a lot of it himself but also likes to translate the pieces of famous colleagues, and he impresses with bloodthirsty murder ballads that even Helmut Qualtinger could not have made more creepy. For the jury: Gabriele Haefs
